How to use Gardevoir against Red
- Save Gardevoir for Pikachu, Venusaur, Blastoise — those are the one-on-one trades it wins on paper.
- Avoid leaving it in against Espeon, Snorlax, Charizard; switch to a teammate that covers them (see below).
- Espeon's Bite is super effective on Gardevoir (43–50%), so don't switch it in on that attack.
- Snorlax's Shadow Ball is super effective on Gardevoir (80–94%), so don't switch it in on that attack.
- It beats Red's Pikachu lead: Psychic does 150–177%.
- Leftovers heals 1/16 of max HP each turn, so it gets a bit more value the longer it stays in.
